30 best startups out of 225 competitive applications have been chosen to undergo the next process of the Selangor Accelerator Programme (SAP) 5th Cohort.
In the opening ceremony held at Selangor Digital Creative Centre (SDCC), Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, Selangor Executive Councillor for Industry and Trade announced the list of startup companies that will be nurtured under the programme by Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) in the next 10 weeks of acceleration period.
Themed “Net Zero, Sustainability & Circular Economy”, the SAP this year focuses on five main verticals, namely Agritech, Greentech, Smart City, Fintech and Healthtech.

Yong Kai Ping, Chief Executive Officer of Sidec in his welcoming remarks said that the submissions for this year surpassed last year’s record by 36.4% (year 2021: 165) in which it denotes that more startups are eager to expand their businesses aligning with the programme’s tagline of “Charge your startup, take it further”. The official application period ran from 10 May until 13 June 2022.
“The 30 shortlisted startups will get access to benefits such as USD5,000 worth of Amazon Web Services (AWS) credits, six months’ worth of free coworking space at Selangor Digital Creative Centre (SDCC), piloting opportunities with industry players, and more,” added Yong.
The acceleration period will cover 14 workshops, three pitching clinics, five office-hour mentoring sessions and one closed-door semi-final pitching session before the final demo day scheduled for 10 September 2022.
